Rotating filters and allowing them to completely dry after cleaning will help prolong the filter life. The easiest way to know your filter needs replacing is to check the pleats, when these pleats become worn or have holes it is time to replace the cartridge. Also, if the water has not been maintained and a bather contracts folliculitis or any other skin bacteria it is recommended to remove and dispose of the filter cartridge that was being used and replace with a new cartridge.
